Time Out Beijing is looking for a sub-editor to join its expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity to get both professional and life experience in a country that is very much in the ascendancy, and a city that is packed with culture and entertainment. The ability to speak Mandarin would be excellent, but is not necessary – either in the office or to navigate the city.

The role will involve taking content from raw copy to press, by proofreading, fact-checking and cutting in pages. with some writing duties. This is a full-time role and the selected candidate will have 40 days of holiday per year (around five are mandated by the government, the rest can be taken as needed).

The ideal candidate should have at least two years’ experience in a similar role and an excellent command of English. They must be enthusiastic and organised, and have an eagle-eye for detail and the ability to cope under pressure to meet deadlines. Experience working with InDesign, Quark or another design programme is preferred.
