What makes it so good? Well, according to Porsche, the new Carrera 4 marries the “performance and efficiency” of the new 911 with the all-wheel drive Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system. Meaning, not only does it look incredibly hot, but it provides a driving experience that’s not to be forgotten.
Under the Carrera 4′s hood you’ll find a stealthy 3.4-litre flat-six engine that’s capable of developing 350 ponies – pushing the car from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and to a top speed of up to 177 mph (Cabriolet 175 mph).
Meanwhile, a more powerful 4S variant of the 911 Carrera is driven by a 3.8-litre flat-six engine that produces 400 ponies and generates acceleration from 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds, while maxing out at a top speed of 186mph.
Available as either coupe or cabriolet models, the Carrera 4 and 4S’ key differences from the 911 Carrera models include wider wheel arches and rear tyres, 16 percent low fuel consumption, and a signature red light band that differs from the one found on other Porsche models.
Set to arrive in UK Porsche showrooms before the year is out, the Carrera 4 Coupe is priced from £77,924, while the Carrera 4S Coupe will retail at £87,959. The 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet will set you back £86,583, while the Carrera 4S Cabriolet’s price is set at £96,619.
