iPhone 5

It’s here! The iPhone 5 is finally here! After weeks of conjecture about what it’s features will include, Apple has taken the wraps off the latest generation of its superior smartphone. And, along with some excellent new features, it’s looking very trim!

Described by Apple as the “thinnest smartphone in the world”, the ultra light iPhone 5 comes equipped with a 4-inch Retina display, superfast wireless technology, the iOS 6 operating system, and an A6 chip that results in lightening quick performance. To cut a long story short, it’s an absolute beast of a smartphone (if you can call a smartphone that).

Photography enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that the iSight camera, featured in the 4S, comes with a panorama feature that enhances your pictures by allowing you to shoot up to 240 degrees. And you can create a high-res panorama of up to 28 megapixels. Amazing!

Sadly, there won’t be an fingerprint security, at least not with this device – but perhaps that’s something Apple is holding back for the iPhone 6. We can but dream!

“iPhone 5 is the most beautiful consumer device that we’ve ever created,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

“We’ve packed an amazing amount of innovation and advanced technology into a thin and light, jewel-like device with a stunning 4-inch Retina display, blazing fast A6 chip, ultrafast wireless, even longer battery life; and we think customers are going to love it.”

With prices said to be at $199 (£124) for the 16GB model,  $299 (£186) for the 32GB model and $399 (£248) for the 64GB model, the new iPhone 5 will be on sale in the UK from the 21st of September.

While we head off to pitch a tent outside the Apple store on Regent Street, London, you can check out the official  pictures of the iPhone 5 below:
